Values 365: D12
“Whatever you want to do, if you want to be great at it, you have to love it and be able to make sacrifices for it.”
—Maya Angelou
Writing is a wonderful tool to help you reconnect with who you really are. This is not for everyone but I suggest you try it.
If that is just not anything that interests you, there are other tools. Talking to a long-term close friend or friends perhaps. I once sent out a text message to my top 10 closest friends asking them basically, “what do you think of me?” The responses were great and it made me feel like my inner self was truly shining! Granted, some things that were mentioned, I was not willing to except at the moment but it made me see that I had been looking at my whole career wrong.
I am a person of service. This was the response that I received more than once, OK like eight times out of ten. I like the win-win scenario. I am not a sales person but I can negotiate. If you haven’t heard, when you are in sales there’s like this quota thing…. I focused so much on this quota that I lost sight of what was important to me: making my clients happy.
When we lose sight of what makes us happy in careers, home life and entertainment. We are soon to become miserable. I am blessed because I had a wonderful supervisor who directed me on becoming better. He saw my strengths and weaknesses. He was not afraid to tell me all of this. Neither were my friends.
So this is why looking back at your past is so important. There are things there that spark beauty and bring peace. So let’s figure out what is going on with your life.
Write

Ask weird questions
Do not settle for a life of less than. When I made the shift, it changed my perspective on life. Granted everyone was not a fan. I lost clients, friends and family but I committed to living my life the best way I know how and it has made all the difference.
Affirmation: I am beautiful, I shine, I am the light coming from my heart. I hope you Can say these things to yourself with confidence!
