The Challenge....

Coming Back

Today, I received a call from the Club asking if I would be willing to come back to work during these times. This is my second offer to return to class but I just do not feel like it is the right time for me. I miss my students, I miss Memphis but I also value my health. I fear that places are opening up way to fast, that we are losing patience with what needs to happen during this time. There is no rush to get back to normal for me. I understand that we have all been with minimal social reaction for the last 63 days, at least that is how long I have been without work or without social contact. I would really like to see the numbers in Memphis decreasing, a vaccine created and life to go back to normal but Shelby county has a total of 3,681 cases. This number seems to get bigger everyday granted, the number of recoveries are at 2,230 with only 85 deaths. I just do not want to get sick.

This is not something that comes to mind often but when I have to say no to work, it makes me think about it.
