Clear as the bluest sky, you know there is no chance of rain… you have a pretty good idea that it is going to be a hot and muggy day when the clouds turn a certain shade of gray. Some people can even smell it coming. I think I have only smelled the rain after it has fallen, and it is one of my favorite smells in the world. Like the mixture of fresh cut grass and wet tree leaves just invigorate my senses. On a morning run when I pass through the sprinklers that are not set correctly and the drops sneak onto the sidewalk. The cool drops are refreshing on my face and arms. In the springtime when the magnolias are blooming, and you can smell their sent but the blooms are not large enough to see but you know they are coming out soon. I think I have always had a keen sense of detection when there is beauty to unfold and sometimes, I must question my ability when it comes to my sense of danger. There has been one sure sign for me when danger is approaching and I must admit, it is one that always happens right about two seconds before I should have left.
A crystal dangling in the sunlight shoots rays of color throughout the room
A smile that crosses a face with brilliance and laughter ends too soon.
Bordeaux goblets sparkle in the soft candlelight or
outside where the moon Illuminates a lovely night.
Picture frames that hold sweet memories of so long ago
Sweet romantic memories come crashing to the floor.
Fragile broken pieces, slithers in my hands
Glass feeling shattered clear and loud demands.
into my face into my eyes sharper and goes deeper
