Shadows in the Mirror
It is twilight on this winter’s day
The sun has left us and no more play
A refusal of letting go
Hanging on for one more show
Hearts are broken
Tears fall, down
Stay quiet now, without a sound
The mirror is a haunting glass
Shadows reflecting from her past
Seeing the face of the one she adored
A self-loathing man, he abhors
Everything about her now, the world and all its wonders that be
The mountains high above the rolling land, the seas crashing into the warm soft sand, the loveliness of her heart and hand.
This bitter man she once did praise
How did he just fall from grace?
How did he change so drastic?
Distance is only thing that is not tragic.
