The Challenge....

The Sign is Not where it is at…

Spending the last few days wrapped in the beauty of the mountains and skies of Chattanooga, it has been easy to find peace especially on the days the sun comes out! We have spent sunny days, on trails as far away as Fall Creek Falls, an hour or so drive, and close as Look Out Mountain -the Point Park, the drive down or up Suck Creek Road, Prentice Cooper State Forest – Snooper’s Rock and the Walnut Street Bridge. It has been truly an amazing time and much needed for me. If you would like to see pictures, click here.

The thing is in ever situation, no matter how far away or how close, there were signs pointing us in the right direction and even with the signs, we still got lost or turned around a time or two. Every time we found ourselves going in the wrong direction, it was due to a distraction of some sort: beautiful scenery, great conversation, a song we have not heard in ten years. This happens to us all the time, people in general, we get distracted by all these pretty things on earth and the next thing you know, there is unknown territory.

Right now, we are all in unknown territory. Right now it is very scary and we are all, mostly uncertain of what is to come. It is in this time that we should take advantage of this unknown territory, be still and reconnect with God, ourselves and our planet. The signs we may have missed or ignored but we “get” to have this opportunity. We “get” this time of rest and whether you realize it or not, we are all over worked and over stressed. So be thankful for this time. Pray for our fellow humans that are ill and take action to protect yourself as best as you can. This is a sign, but it is not our final destination.
