Waking of Melody

Monday morning, rise again, peace be with you, my love, my friend

Sounds of softness, a piano plays, waking up from a bitter haze

Recalling all the mistakes encountered, days of waste and many floundered

Words embellished or not quite true, making them pretty because of you

Fragile, delicate, reminiscent of a flower, left along to rise and tower

To disguise and shape a petal arm, flatter with a southern charm

A shell so frail, intransigent, unwavering from one’s common sense

The end of shame, the bittersweet, undesired claim can never meet

The edge of forever, from long ago, goodbye my love, my friend, my foe.
