People suggest and offer out of the goodness of their hearts; their thoughts, their time, their good deeds. Do we ever stop to ask, “what is it you need?” The assumptions are always so clear, oh they need this or that but what is truly needed is never asked, never found out, never known. What are our true intentions when we suggest solutions? Are they genuine? Are they really there to help the one in need? Is that truly where our hearts are?
Truth is, sometimes we do not ask this question because we know we cannot supply what is truly needed.
We know that when feeding the homeless, we cannot give each and everyone of them a home, a safe and secure place where they have to rest and recuperation. Financially, that is just not possible but it is what is truly needed, a resting period of safety. I wonder what the world would look like if there was a place that allowed safety and security for people to get back on their feet? A place where they receive love and guidance. How do we let people fall through the cracks?
I wish more than anything I had an answer for this question. Again, I am assuming this is what is needed…
